Nicholas Mersman
Director of Information Technology
Mr. Mersman is the director of information technology for WexTrade Financial and WexTrust Capital.
With more than nine years of experience in the information technology field, Mr. Mersman began his career as a radio man, which was later deemed information technologist in the U.S. Navy. During his tenure, Mr. Mersman became versed in protocols, operating systems, applications, networking, and security, ranging from fundamentals to in-depth training.
In 2004, following the completion of his military tour, Mr. Mersman joined King Technologies Inc., a San Diego-based company that contracted him to a federal government entity called Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR). Mr. Mersman was assigned as the systems administrator for the advanced concepts systems lab where he was responsible for the daily production, back-up, security and overall administration of Department of Defense computers that ranged from unclassified information to top secret information. Mr. Mersman was also responsible for the setup, administration and destruction of multiple research and development demonstrations.
During his five-year military tour, Mr. Mersman served aboard the USS Tarawa LHA-1 where he climbed to the rank of E5 petty officer second class and served as head technician in the advanced data processing center. As head technician of the ship, which consisted of 3,000 users, more than 1,000 computers, 12 domain controllers, four exchange servers, 16 switches, and 35 UNIX servers, Mr. Mersman was responsible for directing and training more than 20 sailors on the intricacies of each system.
