The MommyDop is made here in the United States, so that we can ensure the quality and safety of the MommyDop. The FDA and international bodies have taken great care to set power levels that have proven to be safe for your unborn baby. We continually test our products to make sure they meet FDA and international guidelines.
History
Our family has been providing outstanding Dopplers to the U.S. obstetrical market since 1976. We began as Imex Medical Systems* and continue the tradition as Newman Medical. Our design, manufacturing, and customer service departments are based in a Chicago suburb so we can take care of customer questions or concerns immediately.
All Dopplers are not created equal!
Too many expectant families are being misguided by dubious sources into purchasing illegal and unregulated products through the internet (notably eBay). While the products that meet FDA guidelines have proven to be safe, there is considerable risk to unregulated Dopplers. It is very easy to build a Doppler that exceeds FDA power guidelines that produces audible heart sounds. It is very difficult to build a Doppler that works well and meets output power guidelines.
