Bio-logic provides a comprehensive line of computerized systems used by neurologists, epileptologists, EEG technologists, neurosurgeons and other professionals to record and analyze brain electrical activity. The systems are used to conduct routine EEG tests as well as for long-term epilepsy monitoring utilizing synchronized digital video and up to 128 recording channels. Each channel records information through an electrode placed on the scalp or inside the brain. A large number of channels improves the identification and localization of abnormal activity.
Bio-logic also offers ambulatory recorders for cost effective home monitoring and screening. Multiple networked systems with integrated review stations provide remote access by experts in various hospital locations and off site. Monitoring of EEG and synchronized video is essential for the diagnosis and management of epilepsy. Long-term epilepsy monitoring is used to diagnose the disease and monitor the efficacy of different medications and to obtain information critical for surgical treatment when indicated. Patients are monitored for periods ranging from a few hours to around the clock for several days.
