Software Engineer

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general guidance, develops software and system designs to be used in medical devices and associated products.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
B.S.C.S. or B.S.E.E. required with computer systems specialty and at least 3 years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Master's degree or higher is helpful.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and write real time C/C++ and Visual C++.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Visual Studio environment, including .NET.
  • Experienced in the use of version control systems, especially Visual Source Safe.
  • Experienced in Object Oriented Design.
  • Experienced in Windows XP Operating System Architecture, Multi-Threading, and TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of Database Design, SQL, C#, Java, HTML, XML, or Embedded Firmware is a plus (but not required).
  • Experienced with Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) such as 32-bit Windows API, MFC, and DirectX.
  • Experienced with use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Experience with other Operating Systems such as Linux helpful.
  • Familiarity with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Guidances as applicable to Design Controls and Software Validation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and applicable ISO standards (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, etc.).
